Nice shots of the birds. Are you using a telephoto lens to capture the images? The details are amazing.
Yep, I use a telephoto lens and a tripod to take the pics. It's pretty easy, since the birds hang out on my deck and are pretty close anyway. Of course, the camera helps as well. (And these aren't even using the highest resolution)
You're getting some fantastic shots while using your lens and you do have a great eye for capturing/framing your subjects.
Telephoto lenses are a lot of fun. I would love to have one with the range of 50mm-500mm, but I won't be getting one of those anytime soon.
Thanks for the compliment!
This lens is just 70 - 300mm but it does seem to be pretty versatile. Has a nice Macro setting that allows me to get pretty good full frame Macro shots of tiny things (a bee, for example)from about 6 feet away. Haven't had the opportunity to use that so far. Maybe I'll try that this evening with a wasp or something.
You selected a great lens, it's versatile and not too heavy or bulky. It's neat that it comes with a Macro setting too. The images that you have captured with it are very crisp for both the long and short distance shots. Very nice.
